Meet the team making cricket even better for you.
The cricHQ Story
Founded with the vision to make cricket even better for everyone who loves the game; the team at CricHQ continue to lead the digital transformation of the sport on a global scale.
A quick-scoring start-up
cricHQ was founded in 2010 by CEO, Simon Baker and a leading group of the world's most famous international cricketers.
Prior to focusing his attention on mobile, Simon had a career spanning 20 years in technology with a focus on knowledge management and big data. In the age of digital transformation, Simon was at the leading edge of corporate and public sector organisations, wanting to digitise their hard copy assets, transform their data into rich information and streamline their manual business processes. Moving to mobile gave Simon insight into the impact that smartphones and tablets would have in organisations globally, including within the sport of Cricket - which is one of his passions.
Simon approached New Zealand’s most high profile cricketers; Stephen Fleming and Brendon McCullum, and cricHQ was formed. The initial cricHQ scoring app took off around the world and thousands of scorers, coaches, players, mums, dads and fans were all able to score cricket, follow matches live and review statistics like never before.
Digitising the back-office
cricHQ identified that in addition to scoring, back office administrative tasks within most cricket organisations were still largely time-intensive, paper-based, manual processes. It was a natural, strategic decision, for Simon to lead cricHQ in developing a technology platform to digitise and streamline these aspects.
Leading the future
Today, cricHQ is the world's largest digital platform for cricket. The company has grown to be the online home for all levels of cricket providing administration, scoring, analytics, content management tools and video capability for cricket organisations, clubs and schools around the world.
Our customers include 53 out of 106 national governing bodies, 350 associations, thousands of leagues, tournaments, clubs and schools, players, coaches, parents, administrators and of course the fans.
