New for cricHQ: Player Merge for Admins
Added is the ability for club administrators to merge players within their club. This feature sits within the Admin section of cricHQ.
This tool is aimed at removing the number of duplicate players which exist within a club and is now a task which can be done quickly by club administrators.
Whilst this is certainly an exciting addition, completing an unwanted or incorrect merge cannot be undone. Due to this we ask that administrators be incredibly vigilant before merging profiles together.
The deployment of this tool represents a big milestone for cricHQ - this has been a long requested feature and gives the power users of cricket the tools they need to maintain a high quality data set. A large body of work has gone into making this feature as effective as possible for our users.
We ask that if users spot a duplicate profile, the first point of contact is their club administrator. Administrators have the ability to merge all players which fall within their admin jurisdiction, including across multiple clubs.
The tool is self-explanatory, the ‘primary player’ is the existing profile - the one which holds the majority of data. The ‘to be merged’ profile is the duplicate or newly created player which likely has limited data attached to it. As a safety and security measure, the tool will not accept a claimed player profile as the ‘to be merged’ profile.
